we took my 3 year old to the beach and they had this game at the house. He played it all week! Got everyone to play with him, the animals made it fun and easy for him to work out. Would depend on the child, but this is a great game for younger kids to use for reasoning.

Buy the regular Mastermind instead of this “special” one for kids
This is not easier to use and is poorly made.

I am going buy about 10 of these things to give for birthday gifts for all the parties we go to. My 5 year old loves this game and it is hard to get him to sit for anyother games. It is easy to understand and fun to play. I do wish the pieces were a little bigger so that larger hands to hold them better. The price is great too.

The brightly colored animals invite children to try this really fun strategy game. Once you play it, you may not be able to stop. The quality of the plastic is the best manufactured anywhere, so this makes an excellent gift. The compact size of the game, enables easy storage for travel on vacations, camping, or to take to the hospital for visitation.
Any serious game collector should obtain this one. High detail game pieces and game board that is usually found in only a few expensive rare chess sets. This is much easier to learn than chess! Watch out, your kids will learn to beat you after a little practice. So, get ready for some healthy competition..

This game, with a three-color code, and using zoo animals, is great for kids. (The regular mastermind is four colors). Everyone from my four year old to ten year old and their friends love playing it. It is great for teaching logical deduction. Even if some pieces get lost, as long as you don’t lose too many you can still play the game. Highly recommended, along with “Rush Hour for Kids,” which builds on the same skills.
